Personal Learning Needs

I am committed to learn the following towards web service development:

Through this subject I am keen to learn the specifics of World Wide Web and Internet based programming. I like to know the Internet Architecture and learn about its evolution and study its technical foundation.
I want to learn about basic techniques for structuring and presenting content using text and picture some incorporation of AV to a webpage using client side technologies such as HTML, DHTML(Dynamic Hypertext Markup Language), CSS (Cascading Style Sheets).
With respect to server side technologies I want to accept forms and process them accordingly.
I want to learn how to send an acceptance e-mail to the specified e-mail address. Accept data from a graphical user interface and process it. Understand the integration to run the website successfully.
Be able to blend my creativity with commercially viability. Gradually learn about the website development and maintenance industry and best practises. Relate user interface to customer needs and wants and blend it with business goals.
Listen to the lectures, seek guidance, browse online tutorials and books, participate in class discussions and blogs and practically do the exercises.
Last but not least I want to express my web organization skills in my site

I am motivated to learn new skills (client side technologies) and I have some programming knowledge in client technologies (HTML, DHTML and CSS).
I have access to a computer at uni and home, so, I can readily browse online resources and practise the tutorials by practically doing it.
I want to concentrate on the subject and learn by sharing with others so I am committed to it fulltime. Besides this I have good design skills to help me design the front-end fast and then concentrate on developing the back-end (server side technologies).

Server side technologies are uncanny for me so it seems pretty challenging. Also my organizational and time management skills suffer from inconsistency and are awry and they slow down my progress.
I am a student so I am not aware of the commercial aspect of web design and maintenance, as that aspect needs to be sharpened in my design in order to be successful in the future.
I feel pressured and overwhelmed when my work is lagging and it slows my progress. In that event I do not enjoy my task and I become obsessively self critical.

I can assist and guide others (folks) to develop web sites for their business and understand the online resources for motivation and improvement in web programming.
The process of learning a web development technology is very tempting. Also I wish to hone my skills (learn the technologies) by developing websites in future. I hope to design simple server side applications by understanding programming and manage online content.
I want to work in the competitive web development sector in the market and graduate towards working in the mobile website development.

I tend to be carried away with the design (user interface) aspect of web development rather than concentrate on the total task.
I am not sure as to how well I can blend the commercial aspect with my creative workmanship.
Industry requires designers to be knowledgeable about design and technical development as well. This could be overwhelming for a beginner and inexperienced individual like me. As the act of having complete knowledge of the total picture could be daunting.
Another threat that has been gnawing at my existence for a while now is my ill-health. It brings me to a standstill and I become under confident of myself.
