Installing Apache, mysql and php has been quite a pain for a while but finally I got it right with Alastair’s help, youtube tutorials and help from the internet and last but not least some folks help. I agree these are only baby steps, in the sense I have only installed XAMPP 1.7.2 for windows. But in this manner I got to check the installation of a localhost, server, on my PC. Also I checked that the installation was good and in fact I verified it as the test certificate worked on the localhost. Subsequent to this my server worked with mysql on the command prompt. So, I reckon the configuration was synchronized. Albeit, I drew a lot of inspiration from the YouTube tutorial but the XAMPP 1.7.2 had modifications and these modifications were cognitive to me and I could resolve the concerns with some help and using my own intelligence. Also I interacted with the control panel of XAMPP in a coherent way and the consequence of the execution was legible to me.
